Rescue & Trauma Care Medic

Working and volunteering in the community

Meet our Clinic Director, Michael….
who is also a Rescue & Trauma Care Medic

Trauma Care | Advanced Life Support | Emergency Medical Nutrition | Fluid Resuscitation

Each year, Michael volunteers over 500 hours in the community as a Rescue, Trauma Care & Advanced Life Support Medic.

When disasters or major events are happening in the community, Michael is often providing support.

Michael combines day-to-day clinical experience as a Consultant Paediatric Dietitian with his experience as a Rescue, Trauma Care & Advanced Life Support Medic.

Six years of university study in pathophysiology, molecular biology, pharmacology, biochemistry and clinical medicine (required for a BMedSc and Masters Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics) turns out to be a great foundation for training as a rescue and trauma care medic (i.e. Diploma Emergency Healthcare - Paramedicine…, plus many additional courses in rescue, tactical medicine, severe burns, prolonged field care).

Michael volunteers with St John Ambulance, Surf Life Saving, Rescue Medics Australia, Noosa World Surfing Reserve and the Noosa Malibu Club.
